JEE Main 2026 Session 2 – Overview

Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2026 Session 2 is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to B.E. / B.Tech and B.Arch programmes at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other participating institutions across India. NTA has released the Exam City Intimation Slip on 22 March 2026; the Admit Card will be available 3 days before the examination (approximately 30 March 2026) at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The Session 2 written examination is scheduled from 02 April to 09 April 2026. Candidates must carry a printed copy of their Admit Card along with a valid photo ID to the examination centre on the day of the test.

In JEE Main 2025 Session 2 (April), over 9.5 lakh candidates registered — the 2026 cycle continues this trend with NTA retaining the two-session format that allows students to improve their best score for JEE Advanced eligibility.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 – How to Check Exam City Details

NTA released the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Exam City Intimation Slip on 22 March 2026. Candidates can log in using their Application Number and Date of Birth to view their allotted exam city. The Exam City Slip is NOT the Admit Card — candidates must wait for the official Admit Card (released ~3 days before the exam) to know their exact exam centre, shift, and reporting time.

  1. Visit the Exam City Portal: Go to the official Exam City login page at examinationservices.nic.in.
  2. Enter Your Credentials: Input your JEE Main 2026 Application Number and Date of Birth in the fields provided.
  3. Submit and View: Click the login / submit button to view your allotted Exam City for Session 2.
  4. Note Down the City: Note your exam city carefully. You can plan your travel and accommodation in advance based on this information.
  5. Download / Print: Download or take a screenshot of the Exam City Intimation Slip for your reference. Await the official Admit Card for centre-specific details.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Admit Card – How to Download

The JEE Main Session 2 2026 Admit Card has not been released yet. It will be available for download at jeemain.nta.nic.in approximately 3 days before the examination (expected around 30 March 2026). Candidates must keep their Application Number and Date of Birth ready to download the hall ticket.

  1. Open the Official Portal: Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and look for the "Download Admit Card – Session 2" link on the homepage.
  2. Log In with Application Details: Enter your JEE Main 2026 Application Number and Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY) to access your account.
  3. Open the Admit Card: Click on the Admit Card download link. The hall ticket will open as a PDF in your browser.
  4. Verify All Details: Check your name, roll number, photograph, exam date, exam shift, reporting time, and exam centre address carefully.
  5. Report Errors Immediately: If you notice any discrepancy in name, category, or date of birth, contact NTA helpdesk at jeemain@nta.ac.in or 011-40759000 without delay.
  6. Print Multiple Copies: Print at least two copies of the Admit Card on A4-size paper. Carry one to the exam hall; keep the other safe at home.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 – Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following JEE Main 2026 Session 2 eligibility conditions before appearing in the examination. Producing incorrect eligibility documents at the time of admission — even after qualifying JEE Main — will result in cancellation of admission.

Age Limit for JEE Main 2026

There is no upper or lower age limit for JEE Main 2026 Session 2. Any candidate who has passed or is appearing in the Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent qualifying examination in 2024, 2025, or 2026 is eligible to apply.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 – Exam Pattern & Syllabus

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) is a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of 90 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics — 30 questions per subject. Each subject is divided into Section A (20 MCQs) and Section B (10 numerical-answer questions, of which candidates attempt any 5). The total marks are 300, with +4 for each correct answer and –1 for incorrect MCQ answers (no negative marking for numerical section).
