Educational Qualification

Apprentices are engaged for training purposes under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and are not considered regular railway employees.

During the one-year training period, candidates will receive a consolidated monthly stipend. For trades requiring a 1-year ITI course (like Welder), the stipend is generally ₹7,700 per month. For trades requiring a 2-year ITI course (like Electrician or Fitter), the stipend is fixed at ₹8,050 per month. No other allowances (HRA, DA, TA) are applicable during this training phase.
