UP Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) 2022 new exam dates have been officially announced by the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board (UPSESSB) for 624 vacancies across Balak and Balika Vargs. Applications were originally accepted from 09 June 2022 to 16 July 2022 at upsessb.org. The minimum qualification is a Master's Degree in the relevant subject. The application fee was ₹750 for General/OBC, ₹650 for EWS, and ₹450 for SC candidates. After multiple postponements, the written examination is now firmly scheduled for 09 and 10 May 2026.

Educational Qualification
To be eligible for the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) position, candidates must possess a Master's Degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university. B.Ed is not strictly mandatory for PGT under UPSESSB rules, though candidates with B.Ed, M.Ed, or Ph.D. receive extra weightage during the selection process.
UP PGT 2022 – Selection Process
The recruitment process for UPSESSB UP PGT involves the following stages:
- Written Examination: An objective-type test consisting of 125 questions related to the specific subject applied for. The total marks are 425 for regular candidates.
- Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the written exam are called for an interview worth 50 marks.
- Special Qualification Weightage: Up to 25 extra marks are awarded for candidates holding Ph.D, M.Ed, B.Ed, or participating in national-level sports.
- Final Merit List: Compiled out of 500 total marks (Written + Interview + Special Qualifications).

UP PGT 2022 – Exam Syllabus & Paper Pattern
The written exam will consist of 125 multiple-choice questions purely based on the candidate's chosen post-graduate subject. For regular candidates, each question carries 3.4 marks. Ad-hoc teachers have a slightly different marking scheme as they receive additional weightage for their service years. There is no negative marking in the UP PGT exam.
