CBSE 12th Result 2026 – No Topper List, OSM Evaluation & What Is New This Year

This year brings two significant changes that every Class 12 student should understand clearly before result day.

No Individual Topper List: CBSE has a deliberate, long-standing policy of not publishing a named topper list for Class 12. This was introduced to reduce unhealthy ranking pressure on students. The board's result press conference will include overall pass percentage, region-wise statistics, and gender-wise data – but no individual names will be announced or published officially.

On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Faster Results: CBSE has fully shifted to a digital evaluation system this year. Under the older method, physical answer sheets had to be manually moved between evaluators, associate examiners, and head examiners. With OSM, answer scripts are digitally assigned, and associate and head examiners can view both the evaluator's marks and the scanned answer sheet simultaneously. This makes the process significantly faster and reduces human error in mark transfer.

Overseas Exam Cancellations: CBSE cancelled Class 12 board exams scheduled between March 16 and April 10, 2026, for students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, following a review of the regional situation.
