UPTET Syllabus 2026 – Overview
Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 examination has been announced by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) for Primary (Class 1-5) and Junior (Class 6-8) levels. Applications are open from 27 March 2026 to 26 April 2026 at upessc.up.gov.in. The minimum qualification includes a Bachelor's Degree with DELED/B.Ed as per NCTE norms. Application fee is ₹1000 for General/OBC/EWS candidates for a single paper.
In UPTET 2021, over 21.65 lakh candidates registered for the exam — the 2026 drive marks a significant return of the state-level eligibility test after a long hiatus.

Child Development & Pedagogy (CDP)
This section focuses on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years (Primary) and 11-14 years (Junior).
- Child Development: Meaning, stages of development, factors affecting growth (Heredity & Environment).
- Learning Theories: Thorndike's Laws, Pavlov's Classical Conditioning, Skinner's Operant Conditioning, Piaget, and Vygotsky.
- Inclusive Education: Addressing learners from diverse backgrounds, identification of children with special needs, and learning difficulties.
- Teaching & Learning: Methods of teaching, micro-teaching, and basic teaching skills.
Language I (Hindi)
- Hindi Grammar: Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Sandhi, Samas, Alankar, and Tenses.
- Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms, and Phrases.
- Comprehension: Unseen passages and questions based on them.
- Pedagogy: Principles of language teaching, listening-speaking-reading-writing skills.
