Trust Wallet warns Apple iOS users of iMessage vulnerability

Trust Wallet has issued a cautionary advisory to Apple iOS users, urging them to disable iMessage following concerns over potential security vulnerabilities. The company, relying on what it terms “credible intelligence,” has recommended this action to safeguard against potential phone takeovers by hackers.

This exploit reportedly poses a risk to iPhone users even without the need for clicking on any suspicious links, making it particularly threatening for those with high-value accounts.

In a recent development, CEO Eowyn Chen shared a screenshot displaying an asking price of $2 million for an alleged exploit related to this issue. However, doubts have been raised by industry experts regarding the evidence presented by Trust Wallet.

Despite skepticism, Trust Wallet’s alert has garnered significant attention, attracting over 1.2 million views within a mere four-hour period. The company has clarified that their information is sourced from their security team and partners who actively monitor potential threats.

This warning from Trust Wallet follows closely on the heels of Apple’s recent emergency security updates aimed at addressing iOS zero-day vulnerabilities exploited in attacks just last month. Notably, iMessage has been targeted by hackers in the past, as highlighted by security researchers.
